Our story
About SmartieSitters.
Built by two sophomores who want to achieve a better connected community through establishing a network for hardworking teenagers.
How it started.
SmartieSitters began as a joke between two friends about starting our very own Babysitters Club. Eventually, the idea grew to include tutoring, with two tutors instead of one. But those plans quickly faded amid the rush of starting high school.
Then, in English class, we were given the prompt, “What would you do to change your society if you could?” It got us thinking. We thought and thought: what matters to us? The answer was human connection. In a world increasingly shaped by apathy and AI, human connection is preserved through the little things. One of those little things is giving younger kids the chance to spend time with older students. It gives them a step outside their comfort zone, a friend, and hopefully a role model.
Both of us have extensive experience with young children through siblings, cousins, and one-on-one work in tutoring and babysitting. We hope our commitment to helping SmartieSitters prosper, along with our compassion, makes you feel confident choosing us: your friendly neighborhood high schoolers.

Our mission
What we stand for.
We're not trying to be the biggest. We're trying to be the friendliest, most trusted option in our neighborhood.
We believe peer-to-peer connections create real growth — for both the tutor and the kid being tutored.
Quality help shouldn't only be for families who can pay top dollar. We keep rates fair so more kids can get the help they need.
